S2000 Upgrades
s2000 ·The S2000’s 2025/2026 Upgrades:
It had been a few years since I had made any meaningful mods to my car. This was the right time during the winter of 25/26. I had a huge hand from my friends at @JW Hotrodz with shop space and knowledgeable mechanic skills from Jacob. Furthermore, I had a lot of help from my friends Colton, Taylor, Kris, and Abby. The car would not have come together in the fashion it did without them. With that out of the way, I have always wanted to supercharge my car with a science of speed kit. It was intimidating because I decided to go with a standalone ECU that required custom wiring and tuning. It was not a cheap kit, but it has always been something I wanted since I got the car. If we were doing such a major mod, we should do some while you are in there. This included new wheels, Apex VS-5RS, BC Racing DS coil overs, many suspension parts to correct the geometry of the car being lowered, new big brakes front and rear, oil cooler, upgraded fuel system, and a full custom paint job provided by Jacob at JW Hotrodz. Jacob and I had been talking about repainting the car for years, and we figured this was the best time to do it while it was all apart. First, we took the suspension, brakes, engine bay, and interior apart. We started working on getting the new brakes and suspension first. Then we turned our focus to the supercharger install. It went very well, the instructions were well done, we also added our own flare with the air intake, and some fitment of the intercooler and oil cooler. Once we got that all together, I had Jeff Evans of Evans tuning remote-tune the car. It was a great experience working with Jeff. He was very responsive, answered my questions knowledgeably, and was incredibly helpful in the process. Once we had the car moving around the shop, we focused our attention on paint. Which really means time to SAND! We broke out the DA’s and the sanding blocks, going from 400 grit to 600, then 800, on the whole car while body working it and getting it ready for primer, sealer, base, and then clear. I went with the color Verde Hydra, which is a Lamborghini color that was used on the Diablo in the 90s. Jacob is very talented at painting cars and has done a great job painting cars for other customers. He did a great job on mine, and it turned out great. Partner that with the paint correction and ceramic I did with my friend Ashton of Elite detailing 601. With many hours of paint and color correction and a ceramic coating, the car turned out great. Lastly, I got some dyno runs in at Two Step Performance thanks to Wes, Corey, and Cody for taking the time to get the car on the dyno. It made around 320 wheel, which is a 120 HP improvement over stock. Corey assured me his dyno typically reads low, lol. I was overall very happy with the performance, and it sounds great Dyno Run
